The Bernadotte sterling silver cutlery pattern is a fine example of the functionalist period of the early 1930s. The true functionalist ideal, to create objects of everyday use for everyone, is contradicted by Bernadotte creating the pattern exclusively in silver.  The pattern is decorated with long grooves and a rounded handle that is the signature style of the creator.  Designed in 1939 by Swedish Prince Sigvard Bernadotte for Georg Jensen
